Prayer of Faith – September 2016

Do you think that Jesus can suddenly lose His power? Do you think there is some kind of satanic kryptonite that can stop Him from working? Does He ever stop being the Son of God? Of course you know the answer to these questions is a resounding no!

Despite His amazing power, God will not do something against your will. He never violates free will. Because of the laws that He has established for our world and Himself, He will only do those things that are in accordance and agreement with His Word and with you.

I believe there is a way to know the will of God and to pray in faith all the time and to receive your answers from God. When you pray, you must believe that you receive what you pray for.God responds to faith and faith alone. Faith is our positive response to what God has already done. WOW! It is critical that we pray in faith and in agreement with His Word if we are to receive our answer from the Lord. Just like our Heavenly Father, we must use our words to bring the desires of our heart in to the natural realm.

God will not override our lack of faith. For example, when the blind men came to Jesus and asked Him to give them their sight, He asked, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said, “Yes Lord.” After touching their eyes, He said, “According to your faith let it be to you” (Matthew 9:28-29). The Bible tells us that they received their sight. This is very important. Just as the air you breathe is already there but you must inhale it, likewise so their healing was already there. They only needed to receive it by faith.

Your prayers are not an affront to Our Heavenly Father! He delights in the prayers of His children. If He has promised it and provided it in His Word, you are fully within the rights of the believer to expect to receive what He has promised to you. The only condition: you must believe that you will receive what you have ASKED for.

Once you have identified what your need is, and have identified Scriptures that pertain to that promise, you are ready to ask and receive from the Lord. Always ask the Lord in prayer, in faith for the things you need. In Matthew 7:7, Jesus said: “Ask, and it will be given to you, Seek, and you will find.”

In the natural we understand the process of carrying a child for nine months, so we have an easier time believing that our child will come than we do believing our answer to prayer could come at any time. However, the principle remains the same: you begin preparing for that request to be answered in the same way you prepare to bring that baby home from the hospital. We see this principle in Hebrews 11: 1” Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is evidence of things not seen. Faith is the evidence. Did you get it? Faith isn’t the thing itself; it is the evidence of that thing. Think about this; when we go on trial, the lawyers will introduce evidence. Why do they need evidence for the crime? They need evidence because the jurors were not there at the crime scene to witness what happened. Put another way, they donot have the thing itself – the crime. Faith has a certain real, tangible quality. You may not taste it, see it, or touch it, but it has substance in heaven.

When it comes to prayer, your faith itself is your evidence, and the Word of God says in Hebrews that faith has “substance”. That is to say, faith has a certain tangible quality. Where do you think it has substance? In HEAVEN! Heaven has substance. It may not be the same molecular structure that we have in the physical world, but there are abundant Scriptures to indicate that there is substance to heaven. Remember, spiritual substance precedes physical substance in the Scriptures. Everything that exist in our physical, three – dimensional world existed previously in the spirit world. There was a time when nothing existed except God, until He said, “Let there be ..” God’s world, the spirit world, is a real world. Our physical senses operate in relation to other realities not in the spirit world.

Even though we cannot depend on our natural senses to perceive spiritual things, we have to have some type of methodology to discern the spirit world, and that methodology is FAITH. There are laws and principles given in Scripture that teach how faith operates.

Once you have found Scriptures that support and promise what you are praying for, you must believe you have received it by FAITH. After you have prayed and believed you have received what you asked for according to the promises, let every thought and desire affirm that you have what you asked of God. Donot doubt your own prayers. Begin to see yourself as having that prayer already fulfilled, even if you do not see it in the natural. You need to thank God daily for answering that prayer. It is important to understand that this is not a confession of the physical fact, because you cannot lie. In the natural you do not see it yet; but 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight”.We walk by faith for what God HAS ALREADY PROVIDED not by the senses that tell us otherwise.

Bringing your every thought into line with the Word of God and your agreement in prayer is no easy task. Your enemy, the devil, will try to drag you back into the world of the senses every step of the way – you must resist him and push back against him using the Word of God and the words of your mouth. In closing, the antidote to worry and unbelief is to think faith based thoughts and speak faith based Scriptures, it will lift the heart out of defeat and focus you on victory.

Stay Blessed!
